In 1949 Ole Akland was aware of the everyday struggles of Yakima Valley farmers to farm their land and turn a profit. He knew that there was a dire need for change. Ole knew of ways to help farmers get things done easier, faster, and better. He saw the need to be able to use irrigation water more wisely, and with less waste. So Ole opened Akland Pump and Irrigation.
Ole combined Aluminum Piping with an innovative Pumping System to help farmers grow better crops while using less water and labor. Today, Ole's Grandson Mark Akland and his great-grandson Jake operate the 25 employee company that has become the Yakima Valley's best source for domestic pump and irrigation supplies and service.
